In Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth Percy is going to High School for his freshman year when he meets Rachel Dare, a mortal girl who can see through the mist (a magical veil which shrouds mortals from seeing things as they actually are, for example Percy's sword might look like a baseball bat to mortals). Then they get ambushed by demon-ladies who have a goat leg and a leg made out of bronze, weird right! Luckily Annabeth finds them and Percy and Annabeth leave to go to camp Half-Blood.
There Percy finds out that Annabeth is doing a project with Clarrise, which is really weird because Clarrise and Annabeth hate each other. They find out that the Labyrinth (a mystical maze underneath America which can allow almost instant access from anywhere, you can start at Chicago and pop into Orlando in just a few minutes. Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover embark on a quest to stop Luke from getting access to the Labyrinth. Along the way they find Nico (a child of Hades who ran away from camp when his sister died on a quest) again and quite a few other friends. At the end of the book Luke finds a way to get in but has to retreat.
I like this book because Percy does some crazy things: he jumps of cliffs, starts dormant volcano's of into exploding, and the exploding out of the volcano and landing on a island that isn't supposed to be real. Of course the chapter titles are just as funny, from "I scoop poop" to "I set myself on fire" you just have to laugh.
